AppCounter is since a long while in the windows store:

Since recently you can get an overview of new and updated apps. Just open AppCounter and click on the clunky button at the top right of the screen.
Clicking on an app brings up a details view where you can get some more info about the app, and a button to open that app in the Store App.
This information shown by AppCounter is updated at least once a day.
I wish enjoy using the app to check out stats and new apps in the store.
